Maybe
a bit late but I want to wish everyone who reads this blog a fantastic 2013.
The holidays are over again. Ours went by quietly. We stayed at home with Tina
and Charlie. We didn’t have a traditional Irish Christmas meal but instead we
all feasted on salmon darns on Christmas day.
Tina
and Charlie shared one between them on Christmas Day and the 26th. They were
spoiled rotten anyway and got a lot of attention because of our days off.
For
the cats in the Limerick Animal Welfare shelter I had bought some nice toys.
Orla brought them in right after Christmas.
New
Year’s Eve went by quietly as well. No fireworks, which is a good thing when
you have pets.
Now
we’re back to normal again and have just made an appointment with the vet for
their annual shots. They’re both doing fine by the way. Tina’s ear is back to
normal again, their coats are nice and shiny, and they’re active and content.
Both put on weight but in a good way. Charlie in particular has filled out. I
guess he’s over four-and-a-half kilograms now. When we got him, he was 3.9 kg. They
might weigh him at the vet’s. Tina had recently been weighed and she is now
three-and-a-half kilograms. She was 2.9 kg. They have been lucky with the
winter so far. It has been very mild. Today we had some snow and tomorrow there
will probably be more. They’re not too keen on it. They spent less time outside
today than they normally would. This evening Charlie caught a big fat mouse
though, but thankfully he stayed outside with it.
